RUMOR: Mahershala Ali Happy With New Changes To ‘Blade’ Script – Daily Disney News
02/24/2024

It’s been a while since we got any major news about Marvel’s long-awaited Blade reboot. While a recent article from The Hollywood Reporter suggested the film might not make it’s 2025 release date due to Marvel Studios reevaluating its conveyer belt-approach to content, a new rumor suggests that the film is surprisingly still intact. READ: ‘Morbius’ To Hit Disney+ March 1st According to industry insider Daniel RPK, Mahershala Ali is still totally attached to the project. This news comes on the heels of mass speculation that the actor had grown tired of the film’s constant delays. That’s not all. In a Patreon post published Wednesday afternoon, RPK alleged that Ali is actually quite happy with all of the new changes made to the script since Michael Green took over late last year. The only real uncertainty at the moment is if the project will have an R-rating. As of right now, RPK says that’s still the goal. Chances are that Disney/Marvel are waiting to see how Deadpool & Wolverine does first. Now, as always, we must warn you guys to take this news with a grain of salt because it has not been confirmed by Marvel or any other major trade. Considering RPK’s track record in the past, however, we believe there is a good chance he’s telling the truth. With San Diego Comic-Con and D23 just a few months away, we’re sure we’ll get official confirmation from Marvel sooner rather than later. After making his MCU debut vocally in Eternals, Mahershala Ali will star in the film. The road was previously and famously played by Wesley Snipes in the 2000’s trilogy. Mia Goth and Delroy Lindo are also still attached to star in currently unknown roles. The film is currently slated for a November 2025. SOURCE: Daniel RPK
