Less than 24 hours before the second chapter of Ravensburger’s Disney Lorcana trading card game — titled Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn — hit shelves at specialty stores and select Disney Parks retailers, cards from its as of now unnamed third chapter surfaced on the internet. Ravensburger confirmed the legitimacy of the leak to ComicBook.com on November 17. Ravensburger Confirms Disney Lorcana Third Chapter Card Leak Photos of several purported cards from the third chapter of Disney Lorcana were uploaded on the r/Lorcana subreddit on November 16. The images showcased several pocket pages of what were previously never-before-seen cards, some of which ( potential spoilers ) introduced new characters, franchises, and mechanics into the game. Lisa Krueger, Head of Communications and Shows for Ravensburger North America, issued the following statement to ComicBook.com regarding the leaks, confirming their authenticity: Several unreleased cards from an upcoming set of Disney Lorcana Trading card Game were stolen and shared online. We are currently investigating this matter. We want to assure fans that this will not affect future releases and availability. If anyone has information relating to this matter, please contact Ravensburger directly. Lisa Krueger, per ComicBook.com Little was known about Disney Lorcana’s third chapter before the leaks, with confirmation of its ultimate existence and broad “early 2024” release window previously being the only information confirmed by Ravensburger. The company’s statement to ComicBook.com indicates that the leak will not impact its plans for the third chapter, meaning that it’s still likely on track for a release early next year. We won’t share specific information regarding the leaked cards in case you want to keep your anticipation high for their ultimate official release; if you’re curious, the leaks are still up on the r/Lorcana subreddit. Disney Lorcana Disney Lorcana launched earlier this year to great audience reception and demand. Both physical and digital retailers initially had difficulty keeping product on the shelves, prompting Ravensburger to announce that it will reprint cards from “The First Chapter” early next year in an effort to meet demand. The reprints will be identical to the originally issued cards to combat inflated resale costs and provide enough product to reach everyone who wants to play. The game was also well received by critics, earning a top-20 spot on Good Housekeeping’s Best New Toys 2023 list. It will become available in 10 new countries in 2024. Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn launched at local trading card game stores and Disney Parks on November 17 alongside the previously announced Disney100 Edition of the game. The collector’s edition contains alternate versions of six cards from both Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter and Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn that feature never-before-seen artwork drawn by Walt Disney Animation Studios animators. Both Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn and the Disney100 Edition of the game will release at general retailers on December 1.
