The Magical Disney Thanksgiving
11/06/2016

Every true Disney fan knows the worst times to be in the Disney parks are Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.  Yes, there are other times when the parks get over-crowded (for example, EVERY FREAKING DAY IN THE SUMMER) but it’s not as crazy and mind-numbing as the Holidays.  And for those Disney fans that go ONLY for the Holidays, I would like to add that we non-Holiday crazed fans salute you and find you to be very brave.

Due to the fact that Disney loves the dough, Thanksgiving is all about the “Magical Disney Experience”.  What might that be like? Easy. It’s all about the food.  The Grand Ballroom at the Disneyland Resort will be not only fashioned and adorned with a gazillion amount of “Autumn” decorations, but there will be a huge buffet with the original and traditional Thanksgiving foods, as well as other items and a different menu for the kids.  The most magical part of this experience (please read the sarcasm in that previous statement) is finding availability in order to have a Disney Thanksgiving.  You have to plan so far in advance for this luxury, or you’ll miss it before it’s even Valentine’s Day. Even for a table for two.

My advice?  Get a turkey leg if you’re really feeling the need to hang at Disney for Thanksgiving.  If you’re not as crazy as the insane crowds as I am, just stay home and enjoy Grandma’s home-made stuffing.  Nine times out of ten, it will taste better, and be less crowded in the house (I’m just saying).  If you’re Hispanic like me, Disney probably won’t have any tamales anyways, or Abuelita’s pozole, so I guess Tia’s house wins!

How do you guys feel?  Is a Disney-Thanksgiving worth it?  Or is it not only easier, but better to stay home and have a meal with all your family and friends?
