Disney Teams Up With ValueAct Capital Investment Firm for Strategic Consultation – Disneyland News Today

The Walt Disney Company has entered an agreement with ValueAct Capital Management, L.P., a San Francisco-based investment firm. Through the agreement, Disney will provide information to ValueAct Capital and consult with the firm on “strategic matters.” ValueAct Capital built a significant stake in The Walt Disney Company over last summer. They have previously worked with 21st Century Fox (renamed 20th Century Studios after Disney acquired them), Nintendo, The New York Times, and Spotify, among others. “ValueAct Capital has a track record of collaboration and cooperation with the companies it invests in, and its Co-CEO Mason Morfit has been very constructive in the conversations we’ve had over the past year. We welcome their input as long-term shareholders,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement. ValueAct will support the Disney Board of Directors’ recommended nominees for this year’s Board election.
