For most studios, these tentpole films cost a lot of money to create and market, in that regard Shazam 2 underperformed in its opening weekend. The film grossed 30.5 million in its opening weekend but cost 110 million to make and another 100 million to market. Given those grim numbers, it seems highly unlikely that Shazam 2 will be a “win” for Warner Brothers.
