Disney Announces Date for Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Addresses Outside Nominees Including Nelson Peltz – Disneyland News Today

The Walt Disney Company has set the date for their 2024 meeting of shareholders, according to Variety. Disney Sets Date for Annual Meeting of Shareholders The meeting will be held on April 3, 2024, with all shareholders on record as of February 5, 2024 allowed to vote during the meeting. Per Variety, Disney addressed shareholders about the nominations of both Nelson Peltz and Jay Rasulo, and Jessica Schell and Leah Solivan who are hoping to take two seats on the board of directors. Disney has previously recommended shareholders not vote for these nominees, instead sharing their own list of board of directors nominees. Disney’s statement to shareholders that came with the meeting date announcement says that the opposing nominees, “do not possess the appropriate range of talent, skill, perspective and/or expertise to effectively support.” Read their full message below: The Disney Board of Directors does not endorse the Trian Group nominees, Nelson Peltz and Jay Rasulo, or the Blackwells nominees, Craig Hatkoff, Jessica Schell and Leah Solivan, and believes that they do not possess the appropriate range of talent, skill, perspective and/or expertise to effectively support the Board’s ongoing efforts to drive profitable growth and shareholder value creation in the face of continuing, industry-wide challenges. Among the topics of discussion for the annual meeting of shareholders will be a vote on a proposal centered around transparency with the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
