OPENING INFO Announced For 4 New Downtown Disney Restaurants After Disney announced that a few new highly anticipated restaurants would be opening this year in Downtown Disney, we have been eagerly awaiting more details about when they will be officially opening their doors to guests. Following the closing of Tortilla Jo’s (see the newly shared details about its replacement here), we are excited to see that the three new Mexican dining experiences coming to Downtown Disney will be opening very soon. Disney also shared a more specific window for when Din Tai Fung, one of our favorite restaurants, will be opening this year as well! Keep reading for everything you need to know about the new opening info that was announced for the new Downtown Disney Restaurants and a closer look at the interiors and menus of the three new Mexican dining experiences. New Opening Info for Downtown Disney Restaurants Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán invites guests to take a “multi-sensory journey to the heart of his homeland of Huitzuco, Mexico” with the three concepts—Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita—that will soon be opening in Downtown Disney. Disney has been making great progress on these and has now shared that they will be opening “in the next few weeks!” After this initial release a representative of the PR firm for Patina, the restaurant group behind these three new locations, shared that the restaurants are opening to all guests on May 2, 2024 . Disney also shared that the Michelin-awarded Din Tai Fung will be opening this summer . We’re especially looking forward to this addition as we love eating here—you can see our review of another Din Tai Fung location for an idea of what to expect. You’ll be able to enjoy menu highlights like their signature soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), wontons, noodles, steamed buns, bok choy, pork chop fried rice, and more. Disney also shared a look at some concept art for Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita to give us an idea of what guests can expect for the interior of these spaces and the menus that will be offered. The staircase portrayed in the concept art below will invite guests up to the main dining room and bar area of Paseo , which will be “lined with rich woods, tiles, textures, leathers and custom accents that celebrate Mexico’s craftsmanship culture.” Guests will also be able to enjoy an extended upper patio offering great views. See the view from what was formerly Catal over the Downtown Disney District with views of the fireworks below: For the menu, Chef Gaytán combines “his love of Mexico with French culinary style and technique.” Highlights of the Paseo menu will include offerings like colorful ceviches, Mama’s cochinita pibil (roasted marinated pork), lamb barbacoa, and the mejillones (mussels). See the mejillones pictured below: The courtyard bar and restaurant Céntrico will serve upscale Mexican cuisine and tequila-based cocktails, featuring open, airy spaces designed with custom wood elements and greenery. See a look at the outdoor canopy below: Some of the dishes that you can look forward to at this location include quesabirrias, chicken enchiladas, tlayuda (a Oaxacan shareable dish reminiscent of a pizza), and Caesar salad. The quick service location Tiendita will offer Mexican street-food staples that guests can enjoy. The location will have a self-ordering kiosk with menu options including esquites (roasted corn), fish tacos, ice cream- stuffed chocolate tacos, and breakfast favorites like chorizo breakfast burritos and chilaquiles (marinated tortilla chips with egg). We’re excited to see that these locations will be opening very soon! For everything you need to know about the changes coming to Downtown Disney, see our full Downtown Disney expansion guide.
