Over the past year or so, we’ve been seeing some HUGE changes at Downtown Disney, the shopping and dining district in Disneyland. Several restaurants have already closed to make room for new restaurants. Another restaurant recently got a redesign. A new market with four mini restaurants is coming to the area. There will even be a new stage and lawn area. Now, we heard that another restaurant is planning to close its doors forever. Disney announced that Tortilla Jo’s in Downtown Disney is planning to close permanently on March 31st . Tortilla Jo’s is a Mexican-themed restaurant with both a table service restaurant and Tortilla Jo’s Taqueria, a counter-service restaurant. We spoke with a Disneyland Cast Member who confirmed the closure. Note that Tortilla Jo’s Taqueria will remain open a little longer but is set to close on April 13th. In the meantime, two NEW Mexican dining spots will be heading to the area soon . Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytan “will bring his inclusive vision of Mexican cuisine to Paseo and Centrico in the locations currently occupied by Catal & Uva Bar, brought to life by Patina Restaurant Group.” We don’t have word yet if anything is planned for the spot where Tortilla Jo’s is currently located, but we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for any updates, signs of construction, and news. So be sure to check back with AllEars again soon. Can You Get Legacy Lightsabers In Downtown Disney? Which Ones? What do you think about this news? Let us know in the comments!
